PREPARATIONS are well underway for the first ever Christmas Festival, Street Fair and Big Sale at Rosignol Village, West Bank Berbice, billed for December 1 and 2.
The Rosignol Christmas Village and Main Road Business Fair is being organised by the promotional group, Innovation 360, in collaboration with the Region Five Chamber of Industry and Commerce (R5CIC).

R5 CIC President Imran Saccoor said the two-day event is intended to usher in the festivity of the season and give the Rosignol /D’Edward  community a jump-start in commercial activities while  at the same time providing an opportunity for consumers to enjoy bargain prices and discounts over the celebratory period.

He said over 20 businesses have already  subscribed to this festival, including retail stores, supermarkets, entertainment centres, telephone outlets, restaurants, gas stations, bars and clubs and they have all agreed to lower their prices, ranging from 20 per cent to 60 per cent off selected items.

“This innovative effort of mobilising and celebrating the Rosignol Christmas Village and Main Road Business Fair is intended to create much excitement and bargains for consumers; draw local tourism to the community; revitalise the energy and commerce within the community; and encourage and invite shoppers / local tourist in and out of Region Five,” Saccoor said.

The two-day event is slated to open with a ceremony on December 1 at 17.30 hrs at the Rosignol Mall Square. There will be a Christmas parade moving through the community on the same day.

The Christmas Village will feature food courts, play zones, musical zones and live shows on both nights and will conclude with a concert and Christmas tree light up.
