As police intensify their probe into the murder of 42-year-old taxi-driver Rolston Henry whose body was discovered in a clump of bushes on Sunday afternoon, reports are that two men have been held.
This is according to his wife Carmelita Collins who lived with him at 15 DxUrban Backlands when he went missing on Saturday night.
Collins said that the young men arrested by the police at a house in the city had in their possession Henryxs gold ring, his music set, and seat covers for the car he drove, bearing the Rastafarian colours red, greed and gold.
A police release said that on Tuesday ranks arrested a suspect during investigations into the murder of Henry whose body was found with marks of violence at La Bonne Intention, East Coast Demerara.
But Kingxs wife yesterday said that two men have now been arrested.
The 42-year old taxi driver, reported missing after not returning home from work in the city on Saturday night, was on Sunday afternoon found dead at La Bonne Intention.
Collins confirmed that Henry, with whom she shared a home at 15 DxUrban Backlands, when found by police, was tied up, his throat slit and body partially burnt. He was dumped in a clump of bushes .
Collins, who had on Sunday afternoon turned up weeping at the Georgetown Public Hospital mortuary in search of her husband, said that on Saturday night she had checked him out at the car park in front of the Stabroek hire car park. He gave her some money to purchase some items and promised he would be home soon.
After she did not see nor hear from him by 22:00 hrs. she called his cell number but got no reply. xI waited, and when I didnxt see him, I became worried,x she related.
She said she could not sleep for the remainder of the night, and when it was morning and he still did not return home, she reported the matter to the police and checked several places, including the Georgetown Hospital, but there was no trace of him.
While at the hospital, she called his phone number and this time, got a rude response in which a male voice used indecent language.
Shortly after, she received a telephone call from someone who asked her to report to the Sparendaam Police Station.
On arrival there she learnt that the car Henry was driving had been found submerged in a trench at Plaisance, but he was still missing.
Meanwhile, police intensified their search, and the missing manxs body was found at LBI around later that afternoon.
