A 36-year-old man from Lima, Essequibo Coast, lost his life on Saturday afternoon following a three-vehicle collision along Providence Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
Dead is Ruddy Raymond of Lima, Essequibo Coast.
Police said the accident occurred at about 17:00 hrs and involved minibus BAH 9443, motor lorry GAF 1093 and motor car PJJ 1664.
According to a police release, the minibus was proceeding north along the eastern driving lane of the western carriageway, while the motor lorry was travelling north along the western driving lane of the same carriageway.
Investigators allege that the motor lorry made a sharp right turn and entered the path of the minibus, causing the minibus to collide with the right side of the truck.

The impact reportedly caused the minibus to strike the median, cross into the eastern carriageway, topple onto its right side and collide with a motor car travelling south.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the motor car and his 23-year-old female occupant sustained minor injuries. The minibus driver and seven passengers also received injuries.
Emergency Medical Technicians responded to the scene, where Raymond was examined and pronounced dead.
His body was later taken to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
The minibus driver and six surviving passengers were taken to the Diamond Regional Hospital for treatment.
Police said two breathalyser tests conducted on the driver of the motor lorry returned readings of 0.003 per cent and 0.004 per cent.
The lorry driver remains in police custody assisting with investigations.
