A 38-year-old minibus driver from East Coast Demerara has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to Dangerous Driving following an incident involving a minor in Georgetown.
Martin Hunte, of Lot 52 La Bonne Intention Housing Scheme, was arrested by police after the offence occurred on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at approximately 18:45 hours on Public Road, Kitty, Georgetown. The incident involved an 11-year-old student enrolled in Grade 7 at a local school.
Hunte appeared before Magistrate Shivani Lalaram at Georgetown Magistrates’ Court #7, where the charge was read to him. He entered a guilty plea, and the court subsequently sentenced him to 12 months’ imprisonment.
