POLICE ranks, during an intelligence-led operation on Friday, arrested a 27-year-old male of Blueberry Hill, Linden, at a popular night spot in New Amsterdam, Berbice.

According to a police press release, the suspect is under police investigation in relation to the alleged murder of Samuel Marciano, which occurred on November 2, 2025, at 14 Miles, Issano Landing, Middle Mazaruni.

“Following the arrest, a search was conducted on a motor vehicle being used by the suspect. During the search, ranks discovered one 9MM Taurus pistol along with eleven (11) live 9MM rounds which were found concealed in the driver’s side door,” a press release said, adding that the firearm and ammunition were processed and lodged.

The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
