BARBADOS beat Guyana by three wickets in the third match of the five-game series of the 40-over U-13 series between the two countries.
The series is 2-1 in favour of the home team with yesterday’s match being played at the Lusignan ground.
Watched by a sizeable gathering of mostly mothers of the Bajans, who were engaged in a flag-waving battle with the Guyanese supporters. Guyana batted first on a good track and reached 111-8 from their allotted overs.
Barbados then reached 112-7 with two overs to spare.

New Skipper Shid Gajnabi won the toss and batted first.
Without some of its first-choice players, including their best batter, Lomar Secharran, Guyana lost their first three batters for just six runs.
Seecharran, with big 50s in the first two games, were among the players rested to allow new players to gain experience.
Left-arm fast bowler Jaheim Springer shattered the wicket of Timothy Ramdat (0) at 1-1.
Pacer Ki Jani Inniss then bowled Gajnabi (3) at 5-2 before Springer uprooted the off-stump of Afraz Ali for a duck as Guyana made an inauspicious start to the delight of the Bajan fans.
Afraz Khan dominated a 47-run fifth-wicket stand with Deshawn Ramnauth before the latter, who faced 40 for his eight runs, was dismissed by leg-spinner Ky Mani Inniss at 53-4.
Pint-sized left-hander Daniel Johnson joined the set Khan and together the pair began ‘Operation Rebuild’ with sensible batting on the fastest outfield of the series.
Despite not rotating the strike and picking the gaps as they could have, both boys showed good technique, with Johnson playing second fiddle to Khan.
From a position of strength, Guyana lost six wickets for just 14 runs.
With the partnership on 44, both batters were run out in the space of two runs to trigger a collapse.
Khan was run out for 39 from 96 balls with a couple of boundaries at 96-5 before Tyler Nedd (0) was lbw to Anahri Hinds at 98-6.
Johnson, who made 25 from 65 balls, was run out at 105-7 before Brandon Grimmond was caught and bowled by Ky Mani 109-8.
Andrian Emmanuel (5) and Jaden Ganpat (1) were the unbeaten batters when the allotted 40 overs expired.
Springer had 2-10 and Ky Mani took 2-22, bowled well for the visitors, but conceded 24 wides in 29 extras.
When Barbados began their reply, they lost Jon-David Green lbw to pacer Khan for a duck at 12-1
Oliver King and Avery Boyce carried the score to 24 before Ganpat removed King (10) while Boyce (17) was run out at 40-4.
Ky Maini Inniss (10) retired hurt at 49-5, Ganpat bowled Kaedan Wilkinson, who executed a delightful cut for four in his 10, at 52-6, and Fayyad Baksh removed ZDari Scantlebury for three at 60-7, as four batters departed for 11 runs
When Grimmond bowled Natarie Lavine (17), who played over a full ball, the local fans were on their feet, since Lavine had scores of 37 and 65 in the last two games.
At 74-6, Inniss returned and was joined by Springer (8), who was run out at 100-7. With 12 runs to get, the game was still in the balance.
However, Ky Mani Inniss (22) and his unrelated partner Kijani Inniss (3) were there at the end to give Barbados their first win.
Left-arm spinner Jaden Ganpat had 2-12. Khan, Baksh and Grimmond had a wicket each, while Malteenoes’ Ramnauth, who looks the best off-spinner in the bilateral tournament, followed his three-wicket haul in the second game with another frugal eight-over spell, which yielded 12 runs.
The action continues today from 09:30hrs at the Everest ground in the city.
This tournament is a developmental one and was organised by the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) and the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA), whose President, Calvin Hope, made the trip to Guyana.
