People’s National Congress (PNC) Commissioners today staged a walkout from a meeting of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), effectively stalling the body from addressing several matters related to Monday’s General and Regional Elections.

PPP/Civic-nominated Commissioner Sase Gunraj, in a post on his official Facebook page, confirmed the disruption.

“PNC Commissioners have staged a walkout from GECOM, thereby rendering the Commission unable to discuss several matters pertinent to Monday’s elections,” Gunraj noted.

This is not the first time the PNC has employed the tactic of walking out of official meetings, a move that has drawn sharp criticism in the past.

More details will follow as this story develops.
