IN a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, Essequibo businessman and owner of Shawn Mini Mart, Hemant Takram, donated 100 Mother’s Day hampers to women attending the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha’s (GHDS) Arrival Day programme on Saturday afternoon.
The event was held at the Anna Regina Car Park on the Essequibo Coast.

The hampers were graciously presented by President of the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha, Dr. Vindhya Persaud, who praised the contribution and extended warm Mother’s Day wishes to all women present.
Dr. Persaud emphasised the Sabha’s continued commitment to honouring the strength, resilience, and vital role of mothers across Guyana. She thanked Takram for his generosity and for supporting the Sabha’s mission of service and unity.

The mothers who received the hampers expressed heartfelt thanks to Takram and GHDS for recognising their contributions and offering meaningful support in celebration of Mother’s Day.
“We are very thankful, and we appreciate it so I want to extend our gratitude” a mother said.

This act of kindness highlighted the spirit of community and compassion at the core of the Arrival Day observance, bringing together culture, gratitude, and humanitarian outreach.
