–through partnership between GPL, Education Ministry
THE Guyana Power and Light Incorporated (GPL) and the Ministry of Education, on Monday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance training for women in the area of solar energy.
According to information from GPL, the agreement for the GUYSOL Women in Solar Apprenticeship Programme was signed by Head of the Executive Management Committee of GPL, Kesh Nandlall and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Shannielle Hoosein Outar.
This collaboration will support the training of 50 women in Regions Two, Five, Six and Ten.
“The MoU will also support training for renewable energy stakeholders to ensure long-term sustainability of solar education,” GPL said, adding that the training will commence in April, 2025.
