THE Guyana Football Federation (GFF) is proud to announce a commanding 4-0 victory for the National Under-14 Boys’ team in its last match of the 2024 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Boys’ Under-14 Challenge Series. The team showcased exceptional skill and teamwork to overpower the Cayman Islands in what was its strongest
performance of the tournament.

The match, held in Trinidad and Tobago, saw Guyana dominate from the start, with the boys
putting four goals past the Cayman Islands’ defence while maintaining a clean sheet. The

resounding win highlights the continued development of the team as they gain momentum in the competition.
This victory follows a 1-1 draw against St. Vincent & the Grenadines earlier in the tournament
and serves as a significant confidence boost as the team finished the series in second place
within its group.

President of the GFF, Wayne Forde, said, “Despite a challenging start, each one of you
displayed unwavering commitment and left everything on the pitch, embodying the true spirit
of sportsmanship and excellence.”

“You have represented the golden arrowhead with exceptional character and distinction,
making our nation immensely proud. This is just the beginning of what promises to be a long
and successful journey for each of you as you develop in the coming years,” he added.

He noted he was confident that the team will continue to exceed expectations and reach new
heights in its future endeavours on and off the pitch.

The GFF remains committed to supporting the growth of Guyana’s young football talents and
looks forward to further success from the team in its upcoming matches.
