The closing ceremony was marked by the presence of Commissioner of Police (ag) Clifton Hicken, Deputy Commissioner (ag) of ‘Administration’ Ravindradat Budhram, Assistant Commissioner Khali Pareshram, and several other senior and junior officers.
In his remarks, Commissioner Hicken highlighted the importance of such initiatives in shaping the future of Guyana. “Our youths are the foundation of tomorrow’s society,” he stated. “This camp is more than just a series of activities; it is an investment in the future leaders of our country. We are committed to providing opportunities like these to ensure that each of you leaves here better equipped to make positive contributions to your communities and the nation as a whole.”

Deputy Superintendent, Jeanette Prince, provided an overview of the camp’s activities, which were designed to foster personal growth and development among the youths. The camp featured public speaking sessions aimed at building confidence and communication skills, as well as discussions on moral values and principles to guide the participants in making important life decisions. Additionally, the youths received eye and ear testing, addressing their physical well-being alongside their personal development.

The camp was described as a transformative experience for all involved, leaving the participants with lasting memories of the lessons learned, friendships formed, and a renewed sense of purpose. As the camp concluded, it was evident that the GPF remains dedicated to its mission of moulding and developing the nation’s youth, preparing them to be responsible and productive citizens in the future.
