UG Trojans suffered a demoralising 95-30 loss to Kobras last Saturday

last Saturday as the ‘One Guyana’ Basketball Premier League, organised by the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA), continued with three match-ups.

The winners on the fourth night of competition included Stabroek Eagles, Campbellville Ravens, and Bagotstown Kobras. Stabroek Eagles secured an impressive 88-41 victory over Leonora D-Up Stars, thanks to a remarkable 32-point performance by star-player and team captain Travis Belgrave. Belgrave also contributed 11 rebounds, while teammate Denzel Ross added 17 points, including 6 rebounds and 6 steals, propelling the Eagles to a commanding 47-point win.

Kitty/Campbellville Ravens displayed an outstanding team effort, defeating the North Ruimveldt Caimans by over 50 points. Captain Dominic Vincente led the charge with 25 points, and Shamaar Huntley contributed 21 points and 5 steals. Chris Tucker was the standout player for the Caimans, scoring 20 of their 30 points.

The Kobras, led by Jude Corlette’s impressive performance of 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 dunks, secured a dominant 95-30 victory over UG Trojans.

In a closely contested match, Bagotstown/Prospect Kobras narrowly defeated the University of Guyana (UG) Trojans with a final score of 72-70. Captain Carlos Edwards played a pivotal role with 29 points, including three 3-pointers and 18 rebounds. Elijah David also made a significant contribution with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the Kobras. Kadeem Peterkin stood out for UG, scoring 24 points, including 3 three-pointers and grabbing 8 rebounds.

The ‘One Guyana’ Basketball Premier League, supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport (MCYS), the National Sports Commission (NSC), and G-Boats Guyana, is set to continue this Saturday, September 9th, at the same venue.
