Submissions open for Timehri Film Festival 2023

THE Timehri Film Festival has officially opened calls for submissions for the 2023 event.

This year, the event will be held, in person, for the first time since the pandemic, from October 26 to 29, and seeks submissions from persons who have made films after January 1, 2022.
According to the Festival’s Community Engagement Representative Melissa Roberts, the film festival has been in existence for about five years, and while there is no fixed genre or category for the film, in addition to documentaries and animated films, “we are also taking films from the Caribbean, films from Guyanese, and films from people with Guyanese heritage or Caribbean heritage.”

She noted as well that Indigenous films will be accepted. These are, according to the website, films made by Caribbean Indigenous communities, or by Indigenous filmmakers.
Additionally, music videos styled as short films and feature length films, 45 minutes or longer are welcomed as well.
Submissions can be made to the Timehri Film Festival’s website as early as June 11, or on July 9, and as late as August 4. For more details, interested participants can visit the film festival’s Instagram, and Facebook pages by searching for the Timehri Film Festival.
