According to a release from NYSC president, Eric Ferrier, his league is extending an invitation to all softball cricket leagues, associations and organisations to participate in these tournaments which will be played simultaneously at different venues. The deadline for registration is June 1.

The Independence Cup teams will have players from any age group, however, the Masters Cup Over-40 players must be born in the year 1983 or earlier to qualify and the Legends Over-50 players must be born in the year 1973 or earlier to participate.

The tournament normally attracts teams from the hosts New York, Guyana, Canada and Florida and will feature a 25-over format for the Independence Cup, and 20 overs for the Masters Over-40 and Legends Over-50.

The participation fee per team for the Independence Cup is $1 200 (US) while the

The release further stated that players in the Masters and Legends categories must present a government-issued photo identification card showing their correct name and date of birth if called upon by the organising committee.

All teams will be required to submit rosters with a maximum of fifteen (15) players, clearly stating their captain and vice-captain and each roster must be submitted at least one week prior to the start of the tournament.

Several individual batting and bowling prizes, along with man-of-the-match and Most Valuable Player (MVP) prizes for each tournament will be up for grabs while the winner of each category will receive a cash incentive.
