“The GFF and Guyana Beverage Inc. have had an enduring partnership,” said GFF president Wayne Forde. “Their investment in youth football and the young people of this nation sets a resounding example as a corporate partner.”
“My hope is that, over the next six weeks, more parents will bring their young boys and girls out here to the sports hall to experience an early introduction to the fun aspects of football,” Forde added, expressing his gratitude to the Government of Guyana for “coming on board” for the new programme.
Samuel Arjoon, General Manager at Guyana Beverages Inc., said it was a “great pleasure” for his organisation to partner with GFF and the government.
“To see this Futsal summer programme become a reality gives great pleasure to our organisation because one of our core values is the development of human potential,” Arjoon said. “We believe that each Guyanese should have an opportunity to realise his/her own potential.”
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr, underlined the importance of partnerships between policymakers, the private sector and sports organisations in developing the nation’s talent: “Partnerships are built on trust – and that is one of the things we’ve done with the GFF. The fundamental premise of trust is knowing that we are all moving in the same direction.”
