ARCHERY Guyana has returned to St Ignatius Village to fulfil the promise of holding a training session there.
The team, including the trainer for Archery Guyana, Mr Robert Singh, met with the Toshao and Village Councillors of St Ignatius Village to continue archery training for residents of St Ignatius and Lethem.

Archery Guyana met with Toshao Wilson Laurentino, Deputy Toshao Allan Ambrose, Councillors Ms Sherry Fredrick, Roldon Welcome, Jonathan Joseph and Moris Campion to discuss the new initiative.
They also provided the village with targets, stands and equipment for training sessions.

Coach Singh, assisted by coach Shunette Thompson, also demonstrated the shooting techniques using soft rubbers.
Participants from St Ignatius and Lethem were trained in the different types of archery equipment, safety rules in archery, shooting stance, positioning and much more.

With this new venture, Archery Guyana will be providing trainings on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 15:00hrs to 17:00hrs at the Wilson Laurentino’s sport ground.
The council was very happy and supportive to see this initiative develop in the Region as the youths who are involved will be able to participate in archery in a more formalised manner.
The training will also provide opportunities for archers to compete in local and international competitions in the future.
