Two days of Knockout action commences today
TWO days of intense football action begins today when the Milo Schools u18 Football tournament resumes at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Today’s action kicks off at 12:30hrs with Dolphin Secondary taking on St. John’s College after which West Ruimveldt takes on Queen’s College from 14:00hrs
Charlestown Secondary and The Bishop’s High school will clash at 15:30hrs before the Bladen Hall Secondary versus Carmel Secondary game at 17:00hrs.
On Sunday, Grove opens the day’s proceedings against Uitvlugt at 12:30hrs with North Ruimveldt Secondary and East Ruimveldt battling from 14:00hrs.
Golden Grove Secondary will play Buxton Secondary at 15:30hrs while the winner of the Dolphin/St John’s College clash will play the winner of the Charlestown/Bishop’s game.
The tournament, which was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic normally takes a round robin phase; however, for this year only, the competition will feature a straight knockout format.
$300,000 will be awarded to the tournament’s winner which will go towards a school project. Second to fourth will be awarded $200,000, $100,000 and $75,000 respectively, along with individual prizes for top performers.
