…Dindial, Matthew Nandu among the runs
KAITEUR recorded their second victory in as many weekends when the Brampton-Etobicoke & District Cricket League (BEDCL) 2022 season continued last Saturday.
Playing at the Laurel Creek Park on Saturday, Kaiteur defeated Ontario Cricket Academy (OCA) by 38 runs in the Premier League Conference A fixture.
Led by a fine 91 from former Guyana Under-19 player Marvendra Dindial; 69 from Guyana and West Indies Under-19 batsman Matthew Nandu and 32 from Canadian Under-19 player Arjuna Sukhu, Kaiteur reached a challenging 239 all out in 48 overs.
Dindial, whose 91 came off 93 balls, struck six fours and a six while Nandu’s knock included four fours off 99 balls. Sukhu hit three fours in his 32. Gary Greval claimed three for 44 from nine overs while Harrison Ragulan supported with two for 34 from six.
OCA, in reply, were dismissed for 201 in 45 overs with the principal scorers being Jakshu Hora (37) and Nikhil Chawla (30).
Miguel Nandu was the best bowler with four for 25 from eight overs while Dindial returned to claim two for 32 from five and Marcel Nandu two for 45.
Set 150 for victory in the opening game, played on Saturday, June 4 at the same venue, Kaiteur got to the target in 39.5 overs after limiting Phoenix B to 149 all out in 39.1 overs.
Bowling for Kaiteur, Theron Ramlal took three for 34 in 8.1 overs, Miguel Nandu two for 16 and Matthew Nandu two for 18.
The consistent Matthew Nandu was again among the runs, hitting three fours in 51 off 63 deliveries. Gukerat Singh took two for 21.
