THE Guyana Police Force has issued a wanted bulletin for Navindra Ramsammy called “Bandit” and “Criminal” in connection with several high-powered rifles discovered at Blackwater Backdam in Region Seven (Cuyuni- Mazaruni) on Saturday.

The wanted man, police said of Lot 32 First Avenue, Bartica is also being sought for questioning into a ‘break and enter and larceny’.

According to Police Headquarters, on Saturday, based on information received, police ranks visited a mining camp at about 15:00hrs and discovered the weapons – a Rickover 5.56 MM Rifle, a Benelli ARMI Rifle, a three gauge Magnum Shotgun, an FN Rifle and 37 .223 rounds of ammunition.

Police said that, upon their arrival at the camp, the suspect managed to escape.

The police reported that the camp owner said the suspect is known to him and, on Friday night, the suspect visited the camp with the firearms and told the owner he needed money.

“The camp owner said the suspect buried the firearms at three different locations on the campground and then slept the night,” police reported.

The camp owner then directed the ranks to where the firearms were buried and the firearms and ammunition were taken to the Bartica Police Station and lodged.
