WITH over 50 exhibitors being part of the Guyanese delegation in Barbados for “AgroFest” 2022, the Guyana Pavilion is set to offer a diverse, cultural fusion of food, sport and agriculture with the aim of promoting trade and investments between the two Caribbean Community (CARICOM) states over the next two days.
Communications Specialist at the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA), Travis Bruce, who is currently in Barbados, told the Guyana Chronicle, on Friday, that the response to the local exhibition was highly encouraging.
He said the event is anticipated to further build on the St. Barnabas Accord which was signed by President, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali and Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, to create one domestic space between both countries, in areas across multiple sectors.
“The Guyana pavilion offers a taste of what Guyana has to offer to Barbados and the main purpose of this expo or forging ahead is to build on the St Barnabas Accord to give businesses an opportunity to explore on areas of export, trade and investment; so, in a nutshell, that is what it is all about,” Bruce said.
The Guyana Pavilion was organised by the GMSA, along with the Government of Guyana, through Guyana Office for Investment (GO-Invest).
President Ali is attending the expo in Barbados. He is accompanied by Agriculture Minister, Zulfikar Mustapha and Tourism, Commerce and Industry Minister, Oneidge Walrond.
