REGIONAL Four-Day opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul batted the entire day to be unbeaten on 64, as Guyana Harpy Eagles reached close of play on day one against Barbados Pride 214-4 at the Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad and Tobago.
Chanderpaul scored his 11th first-class half-century and has thus far faced 259 balls, and struck six fours in the marathon innings.
He shared vital stands of 94 for the second with Tevin Imlach, who in his third first-class match, got his maiden half-century with a fighting knock of 53 after Eagles were 20-1.
Imlach, who had chances on seven and 38, faced 147 balls for his vital score in which he struck seven fours.
Leon Johnson, who gave a chance just before lunch, kept on the positive side until his opposite number, Kraigg Brathwaite induced him into a false shot to cover. He fell for 37 (6×4) from 77 balls after a 58-run stand with Chanderpaul.

Chandrapaul Hemraj who was dropped on 18, added one more before he went in a short but shot-filled innings.
Debutant Akeem Jordan has taken 2-50, Raymon Reifer 1-17 and Kraigg Brathwaite 1-19 .
Earlier, Vishaul Singh was left out due to illness and pacer Demetri Cameron made his debut.
