SWAG Entertainment opened their defence of their Linden Town Week Guinness In De Streets football title with a whopping 11-0 blitz of Midas while there were wins for Silver Bullets, Darkside and Germans when the tournament began on Saturday night at the Christianburg Hard Court in front if a sizeable crowd.
The 2019 champions of the Linden tournament, which was last played before the COVIC-19 Pandemic halted the promotion of this among other sports for two years, were in a o-nonsense mood dispatching their opponents following a quadruple off the boots of Kendolph Lewis, Colwyn Drakes with a triple, Renee Chester with a double and one each by Deon Charter and Jermaine Grandison.
The second game ended with Silver Bullets setting the trend with a 3-2 win over trendsetters with the scorers being Donovan Francis, Darrell Adams and Clifton Hinds. The Setters scorers were Kevin Gittens and Carlton Hinds.
Darkside then turned back the challenge of Coomacka with a 2-1 victory with Keon Bristol and Dereck Bethune scoring the goals for the winners while Jamal Watts netted the lone goal for the losers.
