THE Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) scout groups, on Saturday, held a recruitment drive in three communities along the East Coast of Demerara (ECD) and managed to successfully recruit 36 young people.

According to a release, the GPF is currently revamping the existing scout groups and is establishing new police scout groups in all 12 police divisions across Guyana,
On Saturday, a team of scout leaders from the Police Regional Division No. 4 ‘C,’ along with a sergeant went to the communities of Enmore, Foulis and Paradise.

They interacted with parents who were excited to have their children be part of the GPF’s scout group.

Leading the charge to resuscitate scout groups in communities across Guyana is acting Commissioner of Police, Clifton Hicken.

The youth will be able to acquire skills and knowledge needed to develop themselves into good citizens, while effectively addressing the challenges that currently exist in their respective communities.
