FIVE persons, including two women were, on Tuesday, arrested with suspected cocaine and ecstasy pills worth almost $12.9 million during a raid at Prashad Nagar, Georgetown by ranks from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU).
According to a release from CANU, ranks acting on information, conducted an operation at a Prashad Nagar home, which led to the discovery of 10 parcels of suspected cocaine and a quantity of multi-coloured pills suspected to be ecstasy.

Two women and three men ages 27-71 were arrested. One of the men is said to be a Surinamese national.
They were all escorted to CANU’s Headquarters, where the suspected drugs were weighed in their presence.
The cocaine amounted to 11.4 kilograms with a street value of approximately $12.5M while the suspected ecstasy weighed 266 grams with a street value of approximately GY$400,000.
Investigations are still ongoing.
