A MIXED 12-member jury was, on Thursday, empanelled before Simone Morris-Ramlall at the Demerara High Court for the trial of two men who allegedly murdered Regent Multiplex Mall, Ganesh ‘Boyo’ Ramlall, during a robbery at his La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara home in 2015.
Lennox ‘Soldier Man’ Roberts who resided at Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara (EBD), and Kurt ‘Banana’ Erskine formerly of Golden Grove, EBD both denied that on July 5, 2015, they murdered Ramlall as they attempted to rob him.
The State is represented by attorneys-at-law Konyo Sandiford and Narissa Leander as special prosecutors in this matter. The trial is expected to commence next Monday.

Last Monday, Feezeel Bacchus, a third-named accused in the matter, took a plea for the lesser count of manslaughter and confessed to the crime. He is expected to be sentenced next Monday.
According to reports, the businessman had just returned home and was going to use the outside bathroom when he was confronted by four men who shot him about his body and relieved him of his licensed firearm, jewellery and wallet.
It was also reported that after the now-deceased man saw the gunmen approaching him, he raised an alarm and called out to his relatives to secure the house.
The bandits successfully escaped. Ramlall was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Days later, police arrested Bacchus who confessed to being the getaway driver.
