CHIEF Magistrate Ann McLennan, on Wednesday, remanded a 39-year-old man to prison for the alleged rape of a child in 2020.

Veroy Isaacs appeared before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was not required to plead to the charge which alleged that, between January 1and December 31, 2020, he engaged in sexual penetration with a girl under the age of 16.

According to reports, Isaacs allegedly raped the child during a fishing trip to Kamaru Creek along the Kamarang River.

He will make his second court appearance on March 14, 2022.
