DAY 2 of the Guyana Harpy Eagles’ four-day practice match turned out to be more productive for the batsmen as Clinton Pestano and Shimron Hetmyer scored half-centuries while Tevin Imlach is nearing the landmark at the Albion Community Centre ground.
Leon Johnson’s XI had resumed the day on 188-7. Akshaya Persaud only managed to add seven to his overnight score of 54, while Pestano motored on from 24 to reach 69 from 137 balls in a knock spanning close to three hours at the crease.
They were bowled out for 254 in 117.2 overs.
Keemo Paul (2-20), Sylus Tyndall (2-27) and Veerasammy Permaul (2-67) did the bulk of the damage for Keemo Paul’s XI, who reached stumps 154-2 with Hetmyer 69* and Imlach on 45*.
Kevlon Andeson (5) and Mavin Dindyal (29) were the dismissed batters to Keon Joseph and Kelvin Umroa respectively.
Day three action is scheduled to start at 10:00hrs.
This four-day match is the first of three, organised for the Guyana Harpy Eagles, ahead of next month’s Regional Four-Day Championship.
