BRASS Aluminium & Cast Iron Foundry (BACIF) Limited has kept faith with the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) as they re-presented the refurbished lien trophy for the GFF/Kasif & Shanghai year-end tournament yesterday.

GFF president Wayne Forde said he will soon present a replica to the Guyana Defence Force Football Club who won the title in 2019, and in order for any team to keep the actual trophy, they have to win it on two consecutive occasions.

According to Peter Pompey, BACIF’s Managing Director, the composition of the trophy is one that will withstand the test of time.
“This trophy represents the epitome of football and the value football can not only bring to our communities but to our country in the context of sport tourism,” Pompey told the gathering.

Apart from the refurbished trophy, they also manufactured a special trophy for the Golden Boot and another trophy which the GFF will soon announce its purpose.

The ongoing year-end tournament is nearing its climax on January 1 with the venue for the final still tentative.

The action continues today at Mackenzie Sports Club, with Linden All-Stars battling Guyana Defence Force from 18:00hrs followed by Milerock and East Bank All-Stars from 20:30hrs.
