GANESH “Chris” Persaud, 20, of Strathspey, East Coast Demerara (ECD), died as a result of an incised wound to the neck, according to an autopsy performed on his remains on Monday.
Persaud was last Friday stabbed to the neck while in the family’s store – Deals on Electronics – by the suspect who wanted his gold chain.
The alleged murderer was identified as 24-year-old Kapildeo Jangadin of Annandale, ECD; he was captured shortly after the incident and the police reportedly found the gold chain in his possession.
Jangadin is expected to be charged Wednesday, when he will be processed through the Cove and John Magistrate’s court.
Persaud died at the Dr Balwant Singh’s Hospital in Georgetown while receiving medical attention. He would have celebrated his 21st birthday today (October 19).
