THE Guyana Police Force is reminding the general public that, while there is no total lockdown, the curfew imposed throughout the country, as part of the COVID-19 Emergency Measures issued by the Minister of Health, remains in effect between 22:30hrs and 04:00hrs daily.
A statement from Police Headquarters reminded that, during this period, persons are required to remain within the confines of their homes and yard space, except as otherwise provided for in the COVID-19 Emergency Measures.
The COVID-19 Emergency Measures have also placed restrictions and requirements on social, business and other activities with the aim of ensuring social distancing and the wearing of face masks by members of the public.
“The Guyana Police Force is urging citizens to comply with the Emergency Measures implemented, as the police continue with their enforcement in this regard in efforts to safeguard the health of the nation during this pandemic. Persons found in breach of the COVID-19 Emergency Measures will be prosecuted accordingly,” the police statement concluded.
