My new Awesome celebration that I desired

Over the past two weeks, we were discussing love and compassion. Last Sunday, I experienced love and compassion. I invited a small group of friends and colleagues to celebrate with me and it was indeed awesome.

The people, the food, the music, the energy, the decor, and the venue were in sync. I have replayed that evening so many times and I can assure you it has carved a permanent place in my memory bank. Clemencio Goddette from Avis Lorrain Décor created an amazing ambience. The legend Herbie Marshall welcomed the guest with his classy jazz and blues. The first guest that arrived and was on time was Komal Ramnauth and in a matter of minutes, my friends and colleagues started arriving and we were happy to see each other. Many were in awe of the venue and some called it a hidden gem. We had a double treat when the Eon John ( who many know as the singing chef) joined the legend.

The selection of music was fantastic although they never played together and actually don’t even know each other. They are true musicians! I started dancing when  Herbie started playing ‘Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone’ and I jokingly promised them that I will not leave for so long, lol. I have replayed this evening on the big giant scene in the theatre of my mind numerous times in the last week. I thought about that young girl from Bartica that thought it was possible as I view this movie. She was shy and introverted and knew she had to navigate the rough waters trying to find out why she was created. Along the journey, she discovered how passionate she was about fashion and love for humanity and discovered her purpose. I will continue this movie at a later date but I can sum it up to five ordinary tens got me to an extraordinary 50 and I am grateful. I believe the best is yet to come God’s willing. I have built my faith, patience, determination, and faith muscles over the years after many visits to the gym of adversity.

I have developed a relentless drive to contribute more to humanity and I will certainly credit my mother for any care love and compassion that I possess. I value people so much and even those that are not close to me. I was reminded that evening of how much people love me and appreciate me. You may be surprised to learn that I can tell where everyone was standing or sitting or who they were interacting with. We would have shared some precious moments for them to be there at that time for such an occasion. Thank you to Dianne Inniss and Terry Gonzalez Cesar for the delicious meals. Paul Bacchus those chocolate éclairs were amazing.

Sarafina Edghill those chicken puffs are among the best I have had like the cheese straw from Sister Bev.
Lisa Insanally I think it was a bad idea to bring that ice cream cake because I had too much lol.
Thank you to Sean Duncan for capturing more Invaluable life experiences after 20 years. He took this pic with me and my firstborn Mariska.

Thank you also to Starr Party Rentals and Lennox Cush for always supporting
A big thank you to Steve Marshall for providing this exotic venue. He loves music so much that he kept playing even when the event was over. I requested ‘My God is awesome because it is one of my favourite songs and I believe 50 is my new awesome season.

That was one of the most intense moments of the evening because it caused me to reflect on the amazing things that God has done in my life and where I think he is taking me.
He is indeed AWESOME !
I must acknowledge the gifts phone calls and to all the persons who celebrated with me online from near and far. Your messages were so profound that they made me even more intentional about my future. My buddy Raquel could not make it because of circumstances beyond her control but technology allowed her to view a bit of it via whatsapp. We share some special moments at my photo shoot the week before

The activities for this month will be in my memory bank and heart forever. I am inviting you to join me and the young entrepreneurs today to celebrate with us as we continue to celebrate this beautiful journey called life BEYOND THE RUNWAY.
