Minister Ramson, NSC executives throw support behind Badminton fraternity

THE president and executives of the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) recently paid a courtesy visit to Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson Jr and Director of the National Sports Commission (NSC). The GBA body, led by its president Gokarn Ramdhani, VP Ayanna Watson, secretary Emelia Ramdhani, treasurer Darrell Carpenay, Asst. treasurer Marlon Chung and committee member Ryan Chang had a fruitful meeting with Minister Ramson and Director of Sport Steve Ninvalle. Also present was Deputy Director of the NSC Melissa Dow-Richardson along with Chairman Kashif Muhammad. This encounter was the first formal meeting between the newly formed NSC body and the minister.
The GBA noted that they were extremely happy with the outcome of the meeting and thanked the minister and ministry “for meeting with us and we look forward to a great cooperation with helping with the development of badminton”. The association recently launched its Air Badminton project which has so far been a success as it continues to reach various demographics and institutions across the country.
