KASHIF Muhammad is tipped to be the new Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), reliable sources told Chronicle Sport.
He’s no stranger to the sports fraternity, having hosted, for over two decades, the country’s most popular and lucrative football tournament, along with his partner, Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major.
Muhammad, a Medal of Service awardee for his part of the Kashif and Shanghai Organisation, will replace former NSC Chairman, Dr Collin Roach.
Meanwhile, according sources, Guyana Lawn Tennis Association president Cristy Campbell, Guyana Cricket Board president Bissoondyal Singh, Guyana Hockey Board president Phillip Fernandes, chartered accountant Chetram Ramdihal and Dellon Davidson, will join Muhammad as members of the new National Sports Commission.
It was related to Chronicle Sport, that the names will be announced officially by Minister of Culture Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr over the weekend, along with the country’s new Director of Sport.
