Chronixx drops visuals for ‘Safe N Sound’

Chronixx kickstarts his year in music with a fresh perspective on his new single, ‘Safe N Sound’ by way of Soul Circle Music.
The modern-day Jamaican reggae and dancehall project marks Chronixx’s first release of 2021.
The track co-produced by Chronixx and Romain ‘TeflonZincFence’ Arnett strikes hard with a foreboding bass drum rumble and slashes of viola.
It pivots into a digital syncopation of booming 808 percussion and vibrating synth keys, according to a release from the Chronixx camp.
The track calls for an uprising during a dire time filled with hypocrisy and corruption.
On the beat, Chronixx declares the need for ‘more love flowing in the streets’ and ‘evolution time’.
He carries a timely yet unifying message, yearning for the global community to feel safe and sound, especially in oppressed nations.

In a post-apocalyptic backdrop, Chronixx unleashes a striking video, co-directed by himself and Samo, which accompanies the song.
The reggae crooner, who has undeniably ushered a soulful, conscious, and musical movement out of Jamaica, proved that he is a force to be reckoned with on Dela Move, the prelude to his sophomore LP, released last year.
Despite the delayed album release, Chronixx has maintained a heavy presence on a slew of singles which also included Same Prayer (featuring Kabaka Pyramid) and COOL AS THE BREEZE (FRIDAY).
An exclusive performance of COOL AS THE BREEZE (FRIDAY) was broadcast on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which marked his third appearance on the late-night talk show.
Chronixx later celebrated his African roots alongside Agent Sasco on Represent and was featured on Jah9’s Note to Self (Okay).
On the latter, the soloist delivered a zen-like sense of calm amidst the idea of the disruption of world peace.

Ahead of Inauguration Day, US president-elect Joe Biden and vice president-elect Kamala Harris unveiled a 46-song playlist, which featured Eternal Light (featuring Free Nationals) in honour of their administration’s upcoming arrival in the White House.
And, last November, Chronixx joined forces with Teflon, his go-to producer, on the Loco Riddim.
Chronixx showcased his vocal range over Teflon’s up-tempo drum instrumentation reminiscent of classic ’90s dancehall.
Chronixx will continue to release music in 2021 with new announcements on the horizon.
What has Chronixx been up to?
Since his #1 US Billboard chart-topping releases – Dread & Terrible EP (2014), followed by Chronology (2017) album, Chronixx has ignited a movement for a new generation that has brought reggae and Jamaican culture to the world and lured listeners of other genres.
In 2019, he collaborated with Ed Sheeran for a summer-jam remix of I Don’t Care, which features Justin Bieber and Koffee.
Then rounded out 2019 with Free Nationals on Eternal Light before joining Wiz Kid on StarBoy’s Jam.
Chronixx has sold-out headlining shows across Africa, the Caribbean, the US, Canada, Japan, Australian and Europe.

His previous nationwide headline tours include a record-breaking stint at London’s Alexandra Palace, where the soloist played to over 10k fans, making it the largest capacity headline show by any roots reggae artist in British history.
He has graced the stages of major music festivals, including Glastonbury, Coachella and Governor’s Ball, and has landed highly-praised support slots for the Stone Roses in Manchester City FC’s Etihad stadium, U2 at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, and Nas and Lauryn Hill on their 2017 North American tour.
Advertising executives tapped him for an Adidas Originals campaign, and he’s landed solo features in Vogue, GQ, and The New York Times.
Viewers of the Netflix series Top Boy would’ve heard the Skankin’ Sweet hit from Chronology, while in the fragrance campaign department, I Can debuted for Jo Malone. (Loopnewscaribbean.com)
