Woman accused of breaking into storage bond granted bail

A WOMAN, who allegedly broke into a storage bond and stole dozens of glass mugs, on Friday, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was granted $50,000 bail by Magistrate Leron Daly. Attie Trotz denied the charge when it was read to her.

It is alleged that Attie Trotz, between March 5 and March 6 at South Road and Bourda Street, Georgetown, being in company of another, broke and entered the storage bond of Ramesh Sunich and stole 72 glass mugs valued at $144,000.

According to the prosecution, on March 5 at about 17:30 hours, Sunich secured his bond with a chain, leaving everything intact. On March 6, 2021, at about 3:30 hours, he was in bed when he was awoken by barking noises. Acting upon his suspicions, he immediately checked through a window and saw two persons fetching two cartoon boxes out of his yard. Having made this observation, Sunich raised an alarm and the two persons escaped.

Subsequently, Sunich checked his bond which is located at the back of his yard and discovered the door open and two cartoon boxes with the glass mugs mentioned in the charge missing. A report was made and Trotz was arrested.

The matter was adjourned until April 30.
