AT the conclusion of the CG Insurance Super50 Cup in Antigua on Saturday, the presence of the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force batsmen was commanding at the top of highest run scorers list.

For the bowlers, it was Guyana Jaguars’ Gudakesh Motie who was the most successful with the ball in the tournament with 17 wickers.

T&T’s Jason Mohammed was the highest run getter this season with 327 runs in seven innings at an average of 81.75. His performances included a century and a half century with a highest score of 122.

Finishing second was Red Force opener, Evin Lewis, who accumulated 318 runs in seven innings and achieved an average of 45.42. He recorded a century and two half centuries and reached 107 as his highest score for the tournament.

Third was the other Red Force opener, the in-form Lendl Simmons, who raced to 316 runs in just four innings. He scored two centuries and a half century on his way to an average of 79 and also recorded the highest individual score of the tournament which was 146.

The other two batsmen in the tournament to reach 300 runs were Pride’s Jonathan Carter (305) and Jaguars’ Shimron Hetmyer (300).

Nitish Kumar (262), Chandrapaul Hemraj (233), Justin Greaves (227), Devon Thomas (227) and Shamarh Brooks (225) complete the top ten batsmen of the tournament.

In the bowling department, Motie ended the tournament with an impressive 17 wickets from seven matches, which included three 4-wicket hauls.

Hurricanes’ Quinton Boatswain played five matches while Red Force’s Ravi Rampaul played six matches, but both bowlers each claimed 14 wickets.

T&T’s Anderson Philip was the only other bowler to make it into double figures as he finished with 11 wickets.

The next eight bowlers on the list all ended with eight wickets a piece. They were Ryan John, Jason Holder, Nial Smith, Ashley Nurse, Joshua Bishop, Akeal Hosein, Andre McCarty and Imran Khan.

Tournament centurions were Simmons (146, 102), Mohammed, Lewis, Hetmyer (113), Carter (100), Kumar (112), Thomas (117) and Keacy Carty (123*).

Meanwhile, Red Force completed a well-earned 152-run win against Jaguars at the Coolidge Cricket Ground and became the fourth team to pass the 300-run mark in the process.

The other teams that achieved this feat are the Jaguars, Barbados Pride and Leeward Islands Hurricanes. These four sides each passed the mark once this season.
