THE police are currently investigating the unlawful wounding committed on Junior Lewis, called “Yankee,” who was attacked by two men while walking along the Bamia Trail at Amelia’s Ward, Linden. Lewis, 35, of Bamia Trail is currently at the Linden Hospital Complex where he is said to be in a serious condition.
The Guyana Chronicle was made to understand that during the night of February 9, Lewis was walking along the Bamia Trail on his way home when he was attacked by two men who dealt him chops to his left hand. They left him lying on the ground and made good their escape. On February 10 around 09:00hrs, a farmer traversing the area saw Lewis and summoned the police.  On arrival ranks observed that the victim had two gaping wounds on his left hand. The police are investigating.
