EMANUEL SOLOMAN, 20, of Lot 317 Belle West, Canal Number Two, West Bank Demerara, died as a result of a stab wound to the heart, an autopsy done on his remains on Monday confirmed.
He was killed during a confrontation with three brothers last Friday.
The three brothers are in police custody following the stabbing at Solomon’s home.
Reports indicate that the mother of the three youths handed them over to police after cops enquired about their whereabouts, since they were identified as the perpetrators of the stabbing.
Two of the brothers are being held at the La Grange Police Station. They have been identified as Kyale Roberts, 26, and Kurlsen Roberts, 23, both of Lot 463 Belle West, WBD.
Reports indicate that Solomon and the suspects had a misunderstanding over a football game about eight months ago and, on Friday last, the 20-year-old was sitting in front of his residence when the suspects confronted him.
According to his mother, the suspects approached her son and rushed towards him, stabbing him about his body before he fell to the ground. The perpetrators then made good their escape on foot.
Following the incident, the mother and public-spirited persons picked up Solomon and took him to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who pronounced him dead.
The body was then escorted to the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour.
The police subsequently arrested all three brothers. Under questioning, one of the brothers allegedly admitted to stabbing Solomon because of a previous confrontation in which he suffered injuries to the face and hand.
The brothers are in police custody as investigation into the incident continues.
