Carpenter killed in Berbice accident

AN accident on the Number Five Public Road on the West Coast of Berbice (WCB), on Saturday evening, resulted in the death of 35-year-old Thussan Joe, a carpenter of Number 22 Village,
Police Headquarters noted that a car, which was being driven by 28-year-old Devon Sears of Plantation Brahn, WCB, made a U-turn from north to south, into the path of Joe, who was riding a motorcycle.

Joe fell off the motorcycle and received injuries about the body. He was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver of the car was tested negative for alcohol. The driver is in police custody pending investigations.
