A BRAZILIAN national, identified only as “Peu”, lost his life on Wednesday after he was crushed to death by a tractor which toppled down hill in Central Baramita, in the North-West District.
According to the police, the tractor was being driven by a 42-year-old Brazilian national, who alleged that he dropped into a pothole while ascending a hill at around 17:30h, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
The driver alleged that as the tractor began to topple down the hill, “Peu” fell off, and had his head crushed in the process.
The victim was taken to the Baramita Health Centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the medic on duty.
The body was later escorted to the Baramita Mortuary, where it was deposited until the post-mortem examination can be done.
