Two new COVID-19 cases recorded

ONLY two new positive cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were recorded out of a total of 72 tests, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 4,026, according to the Ministry of Health.

The two cases were recorded in Region Four. Additionally, there are 15 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 108 patients in institutional isolation and 775 in home isolation. A total of 3,009 patients have recovered overall, which means that nine additional persons have recovered over the 24-hour period. The number of deaths remains at 119.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly-discovered coronavirus. Most people who become sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms, and recover without special treatment. The persons with comorbidities and the elderly are said to be more vulnerable to this virus.
