THE Mayor and Councillors of the City of Georgetown has announced that the Kitty and East Ruimveldt markets will be closed to the public today to facilitate sanitisation by the Council’s Public Health Department.
According to a release, the Council has established a fixed schedule to sanitise all of its buildings on a regular basis, and vendors are not to keep open, operate or occupy their stalls nor conduct any business activity today.
“There shall be no selling in and around the market whilst this exercise is ongoing. The Council regrets any inconvenience this may cause,” the release concluded.
