EUREKA Medical Laboratories (EML) has partnered with the Ministry of Health and the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) to facilitate PCR COVID-19 testing services at Guyana’s main international port of entry.

This comes as part of Government’s safety measures for the resumption of commercial flights.
The CJIA had disclosed that, as part of the Government’s measures to curb the spread of the disease, all arriving passengers are required to have a valid, negative PCR test result that was done within 72 hours. Passengers with a negative PCR test that exceeds 72 hours would be required to get tested upon arrival at the airport.

The first commercial flight on October 13 saw some 13 out of the 44 passengers who arrived with PCR tests more than 72 hours before touch-down and EML conducted the testing on the 13 passengers at the airport. According to information coming out of the CJIA, all 13 of the passengers were tested negative for the COVID-19 virus.

A press release from Eureka noted that its testing team has been on site at the CJIA every day since the airports reopened. Eureka Medical Laboratories assured its partners that test kits are sufficient to facilitate testing at CJIA to continue promoting safety and health of all passengers and staff of the airport.
