MoE receives tablets for students in need

THE Ministry of Education (MoE) recently received 35 electronic Tablets from Demerara Bank Limited and Amazon Supply, which will be given to students in need.

Branch Coordinator and Marketing Officer of Demerara Bank Limited, Christina Correia said “the donation follows an engagement with the Ministry of Education regarding the provision of Tablets to support students’ learning during this time”.

She added that the Bank recognizes that now is a tough time for all Guyanese especially students since they are unable to attend physical classes and don’t have devices to engage in virtual learning.

Correia said Demerara Bank Limited is happy to partner with the Ministry to supply 15 electronic Tablets to aid in the initiative. She said the Bank has always supported such initiatives as it believes in heavy investment in education to mold the nation’s children.

Representatives from Amazon Supply handed over an additional 20 electronic Tablets to the Ministry, and they too expressed their gratitude in being given the opportunity to contribute in such a major way.

Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand, thanked both entities for coming on board particularly during this time. She committed to continued collaboration for future initiatives so that the education sector can be further improved and its services made more accessible to all Guyanese.
