Two arrested for breaking into businessman’s stall

TWO persons are in police custody at the Anna Regina Police Station, Region Two, assisting with investigations into the breaking and entering of a stall owned by Frederick Jones at the Anna Regina Market.

The men were on the run for almost one week and reportedly carted off an undisclosed amount of cash. The men were nabbed by the police Saturday night at Affiance village and one of them reportedly confessed to the robbery.

According to Jones, he secured his stall and went home on September 13. When he returned to the stall September 14, he noticed the padlocks on the shutter doors were broken. It was then he realised that he was robbed and immediately went and checked for his cash canister in which he had stored all the proceeds from sales on Friday and Saturday. The canister was nowhere to be found.

He therefore assumed that the robbery happened between Saturday night and Sunday morning. The businessman immediately made a report to the Anna Regina Police station and officers visited the scene. The CCTV camera was checked and the males arrested were positively identified.
