– due to multiple wounds, autopsy indicates

AN autopsy conducted on the bodies of teen cousins Joel and Isaiah Henry on Wednesday showed that they died from haemorrhage and shock due to multiple incised injuries.

The post-mortem was conducted by Government Pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh, at the Memorial Gardens, Le Repentir Cemetery, Georgetown.

It was noted that the boys died approximately 36 hours prior to their discovery.

In the case of 18-year-old Joel Henry, it was found that he sustained 18 wounds to various parts of his body.
He was chopped several times to the head and there were injuries to his two hands that made it appear that he was trying to block the attacks.
For 16-year-old Isaiah Henry, he was also chopped multiple times to the body which resulted in a severed spine, along with other chops to the head and back of the neck.
Reports indicate that entire autopsy was recorded via video and witnessed by Attorney-at-Law Nigel Hughes, relatives and police.

Seven persons remain in custody over the brutal murders. The mutilated bodies of the boys were discovered on Sunday last in Cotton Tree, West Coast Berbice.

Both bodies were handed over to their respective relatives for burial.
