PRESIDENT, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, has received a congratulatory letter from Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of the Portuguese Republic, who expressed confidence that bilateral relations will be further strengthened over the next five years.

In his letter, the Portuguese President said, “I am confident that during Your Excellency’s term of office, we will continue to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation that unite Guyana and Portugal, especially at a bilateral level.”

He conveyed warm congratulations to the Guyanese Head of State on behalf of himself and the Portuguese people and said he is “looking forward to an upcoming meeting.” (DPI)
