REGIONAL Chairman, Permaul David Armogan, has vehemently denied that he has been tested positive for COVID-19.

He issued the response in relation to post made on the social media platform, Facebook, on Thursday evening.

Armogan told the Guyana Chronicle that he was initially unaware of the posting until former Director of Regional Health Service, Jevaughn Stephen telephoned, informing him of the public statement

The posting was made under the name Allison Cromwell Grant.

As the posting went viral, hundreds of Berbicians, especially those who recently interfaced with the East Berbice Corentyne chairman, made contact with him to confirm the authenticity of the matter. The chairman denied being tested for the virus.

As a result of the overflowing concern, efforts were made by Armogan to seek legal advice in an attempt to file a $2M lawsuit against Cromwell-Grant.

However, Armogan revealed that Allison Cromwell and her husband made contact with him and apologized, and he accepted their apology.

A post on Allison Cromwell-Grant’s facebook page read: “I will like to retract my statement claiming that the Region Six chairman is positive with Covid-19. It is deemed a lie and I apologise to Mr. Armogan for such misleading news whatsoever.”
