A toddler, on Thursday morning, allegedly witnessed his father killed himself. Dead is Dexter Weekes, 33, a miner of Sophia, Greater Georgetown. Police said that the incident occurred around 05:30hours in a Region Eight district.

Enquiries revealed that the now deceased man and his reputed wife retired to bed about 20:30hrs on Wednesday night and, after doing so, the man requested sexual intercourse from his reputed wife and the request was not granted.

Reports indicate that about 05:30hrs Thursday morning, his reputed wife woke up and saw Weekes drinking from a cup and then soon after, she heard a loud explosion. When she looked to see what happened, she saw him lying motionless on the floor. She then noticed their little son staring at his father.
The police was contacted and the reputed wife related that the motive behind Weekes’ actions seems very strange.
