Dear Editor,
AS I observe the protracted election process play out and the heightend sense of racism, I cannot help but wonder where did Guyana go wrong.
We have witnessed the racial divide and the economic exploit for the last 60 years of our beloved country, and yet it continues while its citizens remain poor and the country remains one of the poorest in the western hemisphere inspite of all the natural resources.
The racial divide has affected almost two generations and continues while the racial diversity and landscape continue to change and dimly reflect the origins. Our post millennials have been drawn into the racial divide and it has tarnished the reputation of the country and serves as an embarrassment to those would like to proudly represent their country. Our so-called leaders, if they truly care, must become strong advocates of political and racial reconciliation and admonish our citizens to put down their weapons of hatred and animosity so that Guyana can truly evolve into a nation of one people though many origins.
Regards,
Pastor Daniel Singh
